Ki: [[narrating]] Weeks turned into months, months turned into a year, and Sam and I were still an item. Sure, I had had boyfriends in the past, but Sam was different. He was special.
Ki: [[narrating]] He constantly felt the need to buy me things. He even bought me a new computer when my old one died. But I insisted that it wasn't necessary. It wasn't expensive things that made me love him.
Ki: [[narrating]] One day he took me to a nearby park we would often visit (and more than once made out in a secluded glen). As we talked, he told me he had another present for me.
Ki: [[narrating]] I started to remind him that it wasn't baubles that I wanted, but he told me this was one time he wouldn't take no for an answer.
Sam: [[holds out engagement ring]]
Ki: [[narrating]] And no wasn't the answer he got.
