[Comic for Friday, July 12, 2013]

[[Fooker continues his narration of his father's life, describing it to Sharon as the two of them sit on the floor of GPF's server room. Sharon is responding to his story, holding his face in her hands and looking him earnestly in the eye.]]
Sharon: I'm so sorry to put you through this, and you're right: In many ways he WAS a great man. But he was a TERRIBLE father. But you're NOT him. You'll make your own successes and failures.

Fooker: [seriously] Well, having kids scares the shorts off me. The Brotherhood's all panting, waiting for their geek messiah, and you're having "Harry Potter" like dreams... It's not like I need the added pressure after Dad's legacy.

Fooker: [arms spread, looking up with a worried expression] What if I'm just as oppressive as Dad was? Or worse, what if I swing the other way and let 'em run wild? Either way I'm not doing them justice. Too much discipline or too little... What if I royally screw up their lives?

Sharon: [smiling again and hugging Fooker] EVERY parent worries about that. And I swear I'll never let you face that alone. Besides, I'd beat you senseless if you were too hard or too soft on our kids.
[[Fooker gets a surprised and concerned express, although it's not clear if that comes from Sharon's threat or from her mention of "our kids"...]]
