In the end, Pete won the competition. But here the truth has been revealed: Blackmail! Pete threatened his own characters to get the crowd to pity him. (The sign on the right says, "Applaud, or I'll kill the ferret!") Fortunately, several Sluggites pleaded for mercy, causing Pete to pause. Of course, we all know he is only taunting them... next, he'll kill Zoe and make Kiki move away!
(BTW, if you couldn't tell, I have absolutely nothing against the great Mr. Abrams. I think he's a swell guy, and he and I have a great relationship. Isn't that right... ABRAMS?)
