Yet another unique aspect of the show was the FJORG! "iron animator" competition. Several teams of animators were given 32 hours to create a complete character-driven animated short given one of two themes, several pre-built models, and various sound effects. The results of the competition were then displayed on Wednesday night, accompanied by bands of rampaging volunteers in Viking helmets and assorted gear.
