The Glowerhausens

First Appearance: Relativity (Part Two) (Mrs. Glowerhausen: February 16, 2003; Mr. Glowerhausen: February 18, 2003)

An evil streak appears to run through Trudy's family. Not only is she the distant cousin of Gwynn from Sluggy Freelance, but her parents are even more bizarre. The Glowerhausens met at as "hippies" during an anti-war rally in the late 1960's and promptly married. The missus soon inherited a small fortune and, during the process of becoming a ruthless corporate magnate, became estranged from her husband with his marijuana high and their young daughter, Trudy. Eventually, this led to a bitter, lengthy divorce which has only recently been resolved. Trudy's mother is deeply involved in numerous illegal activities from simple accounting mishandling to arms and drug smuggling. Meanwhile, Trudy's father appears to have wasted his life as a drugged-up drifter, when in reality he has been working as an FBI agent for a quarter of a century. Is it any wonder why Trudy turned out like she did?

Eventually, Mrs. Glowerhausen accidentally revealed that Trudy has a sister who was given up for adoption without anyone else's knowledge. Trudy later discovered that this sister was really Sharon Murphy, the girlfriend of her former coworker Fooker. To our knowledge, Mrs. Glowerhausen does not yet know that this meeting has taken place and that her daughters have rediscovered each other.

Mrs. Glowerhausen has taken numerous aliases over the years to hide her illicit activities, including "Elsbeth Diederich" of Diederich Pharmaceuticals. According to Trudy, Esther Matusevitch is her true maiden name.
