[[Sharon and Trudy continue their conversation, recovering from their surprise at the possibility that "The Colonel" may be Fooker's father.]]
Trudy: [whispering] Fooker's father is an army colonel?
Sharon: [whispering] Yes. He even co-founded the U.G.A. But Fooker hasn't heard from him in years.
Trudy: [grimacing] That doesn't mean anything. There are probably hundreds, if not thousands, of colonels in the U.S. Army.
Sharon: And any number of them could be women, since Mom generally hates men...
Trudy: And who says Nick meant an army colonel? Heck, some states give away the title to just about anyone...
Sharon: [smiling in relief] Really! The thought of our mom and Fooker's dad...
[[Sharon trails off apologetically, while Trudy grimaces in revulsion.]]
