[[The large word "PROLOGUE" appears above the main comic. In the first panel, the sun rises into a partly cloudy sky, over mountainous islands in the sea.]]
Voiceover: "Mr. Johnson, are you familiar with the legend of Odysseus and his encounter with Scylla and Charybdis?"
Voiceover Johnson: "No, sir. I'm afraid not."
[[A man with a full mustache and beard, wearing a toga and a circlet, stands at the bottom of a cliff with the silhouette of a woman at its top.]]
Voiceover: "Odysseus was a hero of antiquity, known for his cunning and intellect. It was he who conceived the ruse of the Trojan Horse and brought victory to the Greeks in the Trojan War."
[[The same man, presumably Odysseus, stands overlooking an ancient Greek ship, and its crew moving provisions in preparation for a voyage.]]
Voiceover: "But this was a hollow victory for Odysseus, who did not wish to go to war, and who would spend the next decade struggling to find his way home..."
