Dexter: [sadly] That's all well and good, but what if the natives you "enrich" don't WANT to be "enlightened?"
Socrates: I... fail to see your point.
Dexter: Let's say, HYPOTHETICALLY, that your species could surreptitiously infiltrate a planet like Earth, taking control over key world leaders and controlling the population to do your bidding. Isn't THAT a bit like conquest?
Socrates: That should never happen. We generally avoid worlds with native sapient species. Sapience tends to... complicate things.
Patty: [dryly] That's generally true to begin with.
Socrates: But hypothetically... yes. That is how the war started. We made our greatest mistake, and now billions of innocent lives have paid for it in blood...
