[[Fred and Socrates continue their discussion in the little room where Fred is trying to isolate himself from the rest of the Physarics]]
Socrates: Look, help me understand your reluctance. Join with me and share your thoughts. Then I'll see where you're coming from, and you'll understand me. [Socrates begins extending a pseudopod toward Fred]
[[Fred leans back to avoid Socrates' pseudopod]]
Fred: No. I don't want to.
Socrates: Verbal communication is slow and cumbersome. Show me the nuances of your thoughts.
[[They begin to circle the room, Fred continuing to avoid Socrates]]
Fred: No.
Socrates: It will only take a moment.
Fred: I said no!
Socrates: Why? What are you afraid of?
Fred: [vehemently] I'm afraid of losing myself! I'm afraid that once you touch me, I'll be just as much a "puppet" as anyone else!
