[[Trudy and her mother, Esther Glowerhausen, are making their way through a tunnel. Trudy has her mother's jacket draped over her shoulders for warmth. It's chilly, their breath is visible in the air.]]
Trudy: [shivering] Where are we g-going?
Esther: To the only safe place I've found down here. Hurry, we don't have much time.
[[Esther stops in front of a small shaft extending upwards in the tunnel wall, gesturing toward it with her flashlight.]]
Esther: Up here.
Trudy: W-what's the r-rush?
Esther: Sigh... Fine. Talk while you climb.
Esther: You're inside a giant space slug that some aliens use as a "ship." This thing eats asteroids and comets for breakfast, and it's just about feeding time.
Esther: About a million gallons of corrosive, comet-dissolving "stomach" acid is about to gush down this tunnel. Trust me, we want to reach "higher ground" ASAP.
Trudy: [wide-eyed, beginning to climb up the shaft] G-got it...
