[[Sharon continues to interrogate her mother, Esther Matusevitch, about her father.]]
Sharon: Then how did my father die?
Esther: I don't know the details. Like you, I learned about it after the fact. Suffice it to say Lionel provided me with convincing enough evidence.
Esther: But I do know this: he didn't go down without a fight. He fooled me for years with his hippie routine, but once he dropped that facade I saw him for the dogged agent that he was.
Esther: [Saddening] Part of me thinks his attempt to infiltrate Lionel's organization was an effort to "rescue" me. We may have ended up on opposite sides, but he was still a hopeless romantic.
[[As Esther continues, our view shifts back to Sharon, who seems deeply moved by her story.]]
Esther: I may have hated him, but he was a good man. He didn't deserve the end he received. He loved Trudy despite her faults, and he would have loved you if he knew about you.
