[[Nick continues his walk through the MUTEX chamber as various volunteers collaborate with excitement and enthusiasm. He passes a table where April James is seated, using her superpower to charge something in her hand. Mike/Mark stands behind her, while Trish is turning to address Nick. All three of them look excited, while Nick seems frustrated.]]
Trish: [To Nick] W-we f-found a w-way for A-April to use her p-powers to help c-calibrate these s-sensors!
Nick: That's... that's great. Keep up the great work.

[[Nick walks toward a door on the opposite side of the room. As he does, he looks over his shoulder. August James is lifting a large piece of heavy equipment over her head, while Dwayne appears to be using a tool on the exposed bottom portion of the unit. Chris is observing them while they work. All three of them are smiling. Nick's brow furrows.]]

[[Nick walks into the next room, which is empty save for a desk and a chair. We walks to the chair and sits as the door closes behind him.]]

[[Nick takes off his glasses and places them on the desk. He places his elbows on the desk and buries his face in his hands. We can no longer see his face, but it is obvious that he is on the edge of despair.]]
