Character Description
Very little is known about the founder and former president of C.R.U.D.E. His code-name is "Dr. Nefarious" and only recently has his full name, Nathaniel Nefu, been revealed. He is the very cliché of a mad scientist, from his hunched frame and balding dome to the diabolical grin and maniacal laugh. He is as sinister as he is crazy. He led the overall invasion of the United Nations during the Battle of Manhattan (see Surreptitious Machinations, Chapter 8: Wars and Confrontations), but was forced to retreat after the U.G.A. defeated C.R.U.D.E.'s forces. He is currently in U.G.A. custody after facing off with James Baud in the Florida Keys, incarcerated in a top-secret U.G.A. prison hidden in the mountains near Big Stick, West Virgnia.

Miscellaneous Notes
Doctor Nefarious got his start in Jeff's comics as the archnemesis of the Inexplicable Speck! With the introduction of C.R.U.D.E. in GPF, Jeff needed a number of additional villainous characters to round out the organization, so Nefarious was "borrowed" to fill out the roster. Within the continuity of the multiverse, the Speck! version of Nefarious is just another alternate universe version of the same character, similar to his "Negaverse" counterpart.
Doctor Nefarious was originally supposed to have a minor role in Scylla and Charybdis, escaping here with Justin, Pi, and Planck from U.G.A. HQ, and continuing to be comic relief for the rest of the story and in the subsequent years beyond. Ultimately, Jeff decided that there were too many moving parts to the story already, so Nefarious' role was cut to save time and space.
